• UK based, Engineering Manager

The role

Pure Medical is looking for an Engineering Manager that is talented, results-oriented, and inventive. Responsible for leading technical teams and mentoring them as we scale and help them in providing business value on a continuous basis. You’ll be both a player and a coach in this job. You’ll need to be able to push your team’s abilities to help them grow as individuals and as a unit, while still being hands-on in the development of our apps and tools. Your primary concern is for your team and its members. For the numerous Health-related products within the vertical, we expect you to establish a fantastic culture with diversity, inclusiveness, bias to action, and transparency as core values.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure incremental value delivery and high-quality standards for the teams with which you’re working. In partnership with our Product and Design organisation, support these teams’ strategic efforts.
  • Attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent through learning & development. Coaching, mentoring, and managerial support help people and teams grow. Maintain regular 1:1, goal-setting, and feedback interactions with engineers to ensure their well-being and the health of the team, as well as to assist them in their learning and development. Work to improve inclusiveness and belonging on your team and within our organisation on a regular basis.
  • Process and Product: Work with other development teams and Product Management to maintain high levels of transparency, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Promote and advocate for leadership at all levels of the Red Ventures engineering organisation.
  • Work on organisational growth and cross-cutting efforts with the rest of our engineering management team to help us continue to improve and grow, as well as provide additional support structures for our teams.
  • Help your teams develop skills in performance, reliability, resilience, scalability, maintainable architecture, and experimentation through technical work.

What We’re Looking For

  • You have at least three years of experience leading and building software development teams, as well as delivering working software with them. Your background involves hiring, as well as having engineers report directly to you and supporting their development.
  • Technical Expertise: You have a proven track record of developing systems that satisfy architectural goals, including reusable, scalable code.
    5+ years of recent server-side experience in C#, Golang, PHP, or Node
    React, Vue, Angular, and Polymer are examples of front-end technologies.
    OOP and software design experience is required.
  • Working remotely: You have prior experience with distributed teams.
  • You know how to apply modern software engineering principles in different teams and how to deliver them. You value lean and agile values. You have a track record of successfully implementing these strategies and providing company benefits.

Compensation

Salary Range: £100,000 – £185,000 *Please keep in mind that actual pay is determined by geographic area, qualifications, and experience.
